DPI- Stands for dots per inch. DPI measures spatial printing and video dot density. It measures how many dots can be placed in the same line in a span of 1 inch.  

PPI: Stands for Pixels per inch. PPI measures resolution of electronic images.

Metadata: Data about Data. Includes structural and descriptive metadata; Data about containers of data and individual instances of data respectively.
